French term or phrase: rhum arrangé
• Plongée en apnée à la découverte de fonds marins spectaculaires
• Buffet exotique de grillades
• Musiciens
• Dégustation de rhum arrangé

I know exactly what "rhum arrangé" is, but am not sure about its English equivalent. It's a sort of exotic rum prepared with special ingredients like lemons, or bananas, or cinnamon, dried fruits etc.

Thank you.

flavoured rum

Explanation:
When in doubt, keep it simple :)

In this contect, I would make it plural to "flavoured rums".

Omit the 'u' for American English.

Well, it looks as if a Zoreille like me can be excused for confusion; still, "punch" and "mulled rum punch" are not the same thing …

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks for your answer, but I doubt that they'll call it rumptof in Mauritius. "Rhum arrangé" is exactly what Bourth described, but it's not a 'punch', because as Alanguelaise said, this rum takes months to prepare and macerate in other ingredients (fruits etc).

neutral  Tony M: I don't believe this is quite the same thing; isn't Rumptof left to steep, whereas what Stephanie is describing is mor a kind of 'cocktail', isn't it?

neutral  Alice Saunders (X): agree with Tony. I used the make that and it takes months.

neutral  Sandra Petch: While I'm not qualified to agree or not with "rumptof" or "rum pot", "rhum arrangé" is definitely left to steep/mature. Potent stuff!

agree  Alanguelaise: It would seem that "rhum arrangé" takes months to make, too - see: http://www.iledelareunion.net/cuisine-reunion/rhum-arrange.h...

macerated rum

Explanation:
This is typical of Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean, see web refs. I lived there for 3 years and have a few rhums arrangés under my belt, so to speak!

Every meal ends with rhum arrangé. This is the island's white rum transmuted to nectar by long maceration of vanilla and fruits.
