Explanation:
These two refs. seeme to suggest that 'diagonal movement' is indeed used in this field, and I see no reason why it wouldn't be 'backward diagonal movement' in this particular case --- though knowing that 'backward' is perhaps too negative a word to please most HR managers, maybe they'd say 'rearward' or 'retrograde' or 'downward' (surely not?)
