http://www.cnrtl.fr/definition/branchementThere is a context [always, but not always obvious to spot] - what is this V3 project about, what is the Standard Operating Procedure in the sector in which this company is operating, how original/different is this company or this project in relation to other companies / projects, practically any element can be part of a "context" if/when you have a larger picture as a point of reference.
There must be something somewhere in the ST that is a clue, (or in some related documents that no one bothered to give you for reference - if you are really unlucky ...)
