Bus/Financial - Insurance
French term or phrase: quotité
The context is mortgage protection insurance:

Pour tarifer son produit, l’assureur réalise une analyse actuarielle sur la base :
du capital assuré et de la quotité* associée ;

Dans le cadre d’un emprunt à plusieurs, la quotité représente la part du capital assurée pour chaque emprunteur.

I understand that this is each borrower's share of the insured mortgage in a joint mortgage situation, but was wondering if there was a corresponding technical insurance term like quota or quotient or whatnot.

(ins./re-ins-) quota-share rate; (mortgage/ residents' assoc.) percentage share
Explanation:
We need to be careful about distingushing the context, namely whether this refers to the insured portion or the fractional share of the mortgage loan itself.

Example sentence(s):
  • Une quotité est le montant d'une *quote-part*. Ce terme de droit désigne la fraction d'un tout, une somme proportionnelle dans un partage. Une quotité peut être à régler ou à percevoir.

agree  Ph_B: Aargh - I was actually preparing an answer with "percentage". In an insurance context, quotités are often mentioned in the form of a percentage. I've got ex. and refs. and was trying to get all this in readable English, but won't bother now. :-)

  -> Pls. do. The percentage share 'limb' of my answer had been extrapolated from AE condo and BE commonhold (purported) translations of mine.

There are several insurance-related entries in the glossary already. I don't think it matters which term you use.
