The instructions I'm translating are intended to avoid boil-over (moussage) when loading a tanker with bitumen. From the instructions, it is clear that there must be no trace of water in the tank. I'm slightly unclear about "épreuve" in this context. Does it simply mean the delivery of a product (in which water was a component)?

2 – APRES ATTELAGE D’UNE CITERNE
Les étapes suivantes sont à inclure dans les procédures du transporteur :

Le conducteur, via l’exploitation ou les documents de bord de la citerne, est informé du dernier produit transporté dans la citerne, et doit :
• Fermer la vanne supérieure de mise à l’air (si elle existe).
• Faire le tour du camion pour vérifier que les vannes sont bien fermées.
• Vérifier l’absence de résidus et d’eau dans le tuyau d’évacuation du bac de rétention du trou d’homme.
• Vérifier visuellement l’absence d’eau par le trou d’homme.
• Inverser la pente de la citerne.
• Vérifier visuellement l’absence d’eau par le trou d’homme.
3 – APRES UNE *EPREUVE REALISEE A L’EAU* OU SUITE A UNE IMMOBILISATION IMPORTANTE
Les étapes suivantes sont à inclure dans les procédures du transporteur :

L’exploitation ou le personnel en charge des contrôles, après accord du service technique, doit signaler au conducteur que la citerne a subi une *épreuve effectuée avec de l’eau* (pochette du véhicule...).


Le conducteur doit effectuer les opérations suivantes :
• Vérifier que la vanne supérieure de mise à l’air (si elle existe) est fermée.
• Fermer la vanne de fond.
• Vérifier visuellement l’absence d’eau par le trou d’homme.

• Inverser la pente de la citerne.
• Vérifier visuellement l’absence d’eau par le trou d’homme.
