French term or phrase: talents hors normes à l'exigence hors pair
A sentence describing famous photographers (William Klein, Diane Arbus, Helmut Newton etc.).
The preceding line is a list of names. This comes immediately after and is a sentence in itself.
I'd like to keep the balance of the sentence, something like "Extraordinary talent setting exceptional standards"... not that great but still working on it!
Your ideas will be much appreciated. Thanks!

unequalled talent with unparalleled standards
Explanation:
Not too happy with this, but the best that comes to mind for the moment - an idea for the pot!

if you want to try something other than 'standards' (which I thought was a really good translation BTW!), I feel you're going to have to go for two verb forms...
e.g. superiorly gifted, singularly demanding
I would actually prefer 'supremely gifted', but didn't want to appear to be pinching ideas from CMJ

All credit to CMJ here, but with her suggestions, I wondered about using 'unparalleled talent' with her idea of 'combined with exacting standards' The balance is kept more or less in the rhythm ...... (and, if we get poetic about it, there's even a little assonance with the 'a' sound)

neutral  katsy: so many ideas - some of which I like more than others, hence 'neutral', but I like 'combined with exacting standards' :-)/how about 'supreme talent combined with.....'?

-> it is indeed a question of taste - sounds silly but normally such things tend to fall into place in the general context of the particular translation. But......

neutral  Emma Paulay: (Only) just realised I er "borrowed" supreme from you. Didn't do it on purpose so please take it as a compliment!

supreme talent, forever surpassing expectations

Explanation:
Just trying to find an alternative to standards, if you want one, and trying to keep the balance which, I agree, would be great.
