neutral  writeaway: but keep the French-it is Fr law after all. this may be ok as makeshift/quick fix solution but that's all. Imo, Linguee is not the most reliable of (re)sources for Fr-En. /keeping the Fr shows exactly where 'court record' comes from. Fr legal term, Fr law

Définition de Plumitif


A une époque où les greffiers " tenaient la plume " à l'audience, le plumitif était le registre sur lequel ils portaient toutes les informations propres à établir la régularité des débats et ils y consignaient le sens des plaidoiries prononcées, les incidents d'audience, et les décisions qui y avaient été rendues.

Le plumitif est devenu le " registre d'audience " qui lui même, a disparu. Actuellement, le Greffier d'audience ne tient plus qu'une "feuille d'audience"qui sert à entrer dans l'ordinateur du service du Greffe, certaines informations relatives au contrôle de la manière dont chacune des affaires s'est présentée (nom des parties et des avocats, interventions de parties tierces, caractère contradictoire ou non des débats, PV d'accord des parties, plaidoiries, renvoi à une autre audience, désistement, radiation du rôle, jugement rendu sur le siège lorsque c'est le cas, audition de témoins, mise en délibéré.

  -> I think it looks like a record of court proceedings. I really covers a lot. I feel strongly that the reader should be give an chance to refer back to the original French.
