French term or phrase: remise étude
This is the title of a document recording that a service failed and that the deed is filed at the office. The bailiff arrived at the location, but the recipient was not to be found at the address listed in the trade register, and no one at the location would accept the deed.

What would be the proper term for this. I can't find the exact term in French. "Office filing," "Remittance to office" ?

returned to office
Explanation:
I'd have though this would be a natural way of expressing it in EN; literally, of couirse, 'handed back to office' — but I don't think we'd ever actually SAY it like that!

agree  Nikki Scott-Despaigne: Position and distance with movement of objects are not viewed in the same way in FR and EN. Something is "handed back" to a place one then leaves, yet this is the huissier's office so the idea is rather "brought/taken back". "Returned to" does the trick.
