Law/Patents - Law (general) / Court ruling
French term or phrase: jugement rendu sur assignation
Hi all,
I am hoping some of you legal eagles can shed some light on this expression. Context is a ruling by the Court of Appeal.

Here is what I've got down tentatively:

By court ruling dated DD/MM/YYYY, following proceedings in which all parties are deemed to have been given notice and an opportunity to be heard, (****rendu sur assignation**** ???) on DD/MM/YYYY, the juge de l’exécution (NB: I have already included a translator’s note explaining the role of the juge de l’exécution) of the Regional Court of (CITY) has, in particular, fixed the coercive fine ordered by the Court of Appeal of (CITY) on DD/MM/YYYY in the amount of EUR XXX, ordered in solidum Mr. (NAME) and the company (NAME) to pay Mr. (NAME) the sum of EUR XXX as payment of this fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, many thanks in advance !

A judicial summons is addressed to a defendant in a legal proceeding. Typically, the summons will announce to the person to whom it is directed that a legal proceeding has been started against that person, and that a file has been started in the court records. The summons announces a date by which the defendant(s) must either appear in court, or respond in writing to the court or the opposing party or parties.

agree  Nikki Scott-Despaigne: Ditto AllegoTrans' suggestion. You often find this type of paragraph starting off quite ordinarily along the lines of : "In its judgement of xx/xx/xxxx, the Court ruled that..."
