French to English Art/Literary Linguistics Abbreviation from a letter
An abbreviation. It is from a hand-written text, so it is possible that I've mis-read it, so if there is something similar, let me know. In context, it follows a quotation from a letter.

ah, i figured it out Sorry, this is Latin. I realized after looking through it again that it had to be "celissimus episcopus" because this phrase is used several lines above. It was surrounded by French, so I was a wee bit confused! Thanks anyway!
