French term or phrase: clapet anti-retour de freinage
The symbol is given in the text: it's the normal check valve symbol (wine glass with a tennis ball in it) but the tennis ball is pierced down the centre to show the passage of fluid. I can't find this symbol anywhere.
I've found the term "throttle check valve" which sounds likely. Any hydraulics experts like to comment?

brake check valve

the braking is not about the valve itself but it is indicating that it belongs to a hydraulic braking system
