French term or phrase: NGV Niveau Global de Velocité
Cette valeur est représentative du niveau global des vélocités comprises entre 10 et 1000 Hz (typiquement). Elle est déterminée en calculant la racine carrée de la somme des carrés des intensités relevées dans le domaine spectral entre deux bornes de fréquence.
La même logique s'applique au NGA, Niveau Global d'Accélération

overall velocity level

The overall level sensor is a sensor comprised of an accelerometer with electronics for processing the signal in order to extract from it either the overall acceleration level, or the *overall velocity level* in the form of a 4-20mA signal.

Notes to answerer
Asker: "NGV and NGA seem to be very specific to FR": that' very likely "For "overall", read "RMS"": I cannot stand this statement, as RMS is statistic computed from the time domain as NGx is computed out of the frequency domain. Your answers confirm my early thoughts: there might be some specific terms from the vibrations word. Thank you anyway for your help. I hope you understand why I cannot sate as I am too much unsure.

neutral  chris collister: See comments above re. "overall"//The Dynae company is French, so the EN version is a translation! NGV and NGA seem to be very specific to FR. For "overall", read "RMS"

-> I believe the FR is a literal translation of its EN counterpart (also found in more serious, EN-original references, sorry for FR Dynae). It doesn't sound FR// I was referring to the question, not the Dynae site.
