French to English translations [PRO]

French term or phrase: Sur-plateau
This is in a document describing different machining centres, it is just stated twice in a list of features with no details or hints on what it actually is. Does anyone know what it means?
Here is an example in a description of positive and negative aspects of one of the machines:
