I am looking for the correct term for the medical condition referred to in French as "maigreur". Is it underweight? Sounds strange to me, or maybe it's because we don't hear a lot about it these days.

emaciation is a noun but, as I asked previously, "to which extent". These terms vary by degree. Thanks Can :-)
