English translation:Fleau de sel (extra fine sea salt)
Explanation:
This is something that has come up several times on the Lantra list. Here is the most complete answer, from 1999, provided by Jo Ann Cahn: fleur de sel: fine salt Fleur de sel is the top layer of salt which is raked rather than mined in such places as Ile de Ré, Ile d'Oléron, Guérande, etc. The crystals are smaller and purer and gourmets claim it has a more subtle flavour. I think the only way to do this is to leave the French, in italics, and translate afterward between brackets if you feel this is necessary. I've put the URL for all the archives entries on the topic, below:

fleur de sel

Explanation:
I found a number of English and French sites on the internet that advertised or described fleur de sel. It seems to be a sea salt from Britanny, France and according to the price quite a delicacy.
I found a site that translated it to sea flowers in parenthesis. I don't like it.
