car /auto mechanic
It says ville; so how can it be in the countryside? I suspect that the words 'de ville' are redundant, and maybe date back to a time when the only car mechanics were in towns.

The local mechanic
By local, it's refering to city, county etc. It's the one mechanic that everyone knows and he/she serves the local community.
