French term or phrase: lunette de guidage
I'm translating a general presentation about a new digital project in a French region, and there is a slide with a list of the super-duper features of its planned research facility, including drones, smart materials, sensors, cobots, virtual reality, etc. Each item has a several-word description and I'm struggling with this one:

"Réalité augmentée: Projection / *lunettes de guidage* de l'opérateur"

I've been reading up on augmented reality, but I'm not an expert and am still not sure if this is just referring to AR "smart glasses", or something more specific. "guidance glasses" doesn't sound that great, and could only find a few google hits.

No more context than that since it's just a list.

Thanks for any ideas!

Explanation:
I think it depends on whether these glasses give a sort of heads-up display for the drone operator, providing flight information only, or whether they immerse the operator in the first person view from the drone itself (they see what the drone sees). Is there anything else in your document that would give this context?

Smart glasses would possibly tend to indicate the former, I think drone goggles would indicate the fully-immersed first person view.

Re: your notes to B D Finch, I don't think it's a factory setting. in fact, I think the projection part refers to projecting the person wearing the glasses into the position of the drone (or vice versa, however you want to think about it) so that they have this FPV (first person view) aspect.

I see, yes I had assumed it was for drones. In that case I think they mean glasses worn by an operator that will give them extra information to help them do their work. Your link was a guiding system, yes, but not the 'lunettes' part

Asker: That's all the context I have unfortunately, so no idea what these actually do. It's just a general presentation doc with a list of all the cool stuff they're promising!

Asker: Sorry I wasn't clear, this actually is a factory setting as its a presentation of the technologies available in this particular factory. Here is the title of the slide if this helps: "Exemples de technologies potentiellement mobilisables dans l'usine de recherche partagée". So drones are potentially available technology, as are cobots, etc. I'm just not sure there is a link between the drones and the AR piece, as they are nowhere near each other on the list. But it given the lack of context, it's hard to say for sure.

I don't know whether the term needs to be application-specific. However, it does matter whether it is "lunettes de guidage" (pl) or "lunette de guidage" (sing.), as the latter wouldn't be eyewear.

Asker: Thanks for this suggestion. I'm not sure that these are meant for drones in particular though, as the drone piece I mentioned is a separate item on the list. Would this still work it's not specific to drones? The fact that they mention the projection aspect right before the "lunette" suggests that it may be more of a factory/manufacturing setting. What do you think?
