The capital letter in Thon points to it being a Town or River, and if the text "suggests" it was in Burgundy then Namur (and hence Thon) was in the second kingdom of Burgundy... but yeah of course, context is needed otherwise it's guess work.

Yeah I see what you mean, it could be river bed and the water soiled, but if this is a two line couplet with "lit" and "folie" rhyming then "son lit" could be "his bed".

this is a test piece, so some context is inevitably missing. I can vouch for the fact that there is nothing to clarify whether Thon is a village, river, or anything else dead or alive! There is also nothing to suggest that this takes place in what is now known as Belgium; in fact the text suggests that it is in Burgundy, although this isn't actually specified. This sentence appears completely out of the blue in the middle of a grim description of the devastation caused by enemy soldiers. The word 'exsangue' appears a lot!

It a description of the ravaging by foreign marauders of the countryside. Nowhere is there any reference to anyone named Thon.
