I know that this is normally used for electric power points, but I cannot believe that this large split-level apartment has only two points. So could this be referring to fuse boxes?

agree  writeaway: oeuf corse. A box basically always means a garage (usually but not always closed/locked) -a space is usually an emplacement.

agree  Tony M: And sometimes this kind of 'box' is simply a lockable cage for your car. 'Box' as in the sense of a 'stall' in a stable.
