French term or phrase: conditions de surstoechiométrie temporaire
'Surstoechiométrie' gets a few Googles but it's not clear to me what it means or how it differs from 'stoechiométrie'. Can anyone help, please?

* atmosphère: CO2 plus 10 vpm O2;
* montée en température: 150 K.h-1; descente: 300 K.h-1;
* palier de 2 heures à 1200°C, 1400°C ou 1600°C (-110 < RTln(pO2) < -80 kJ.mol-1)

temporary superstoichiometric conditions
Explanation:
Just a guess, but I'd say stoichiometric conditions would be when you combine reagents 1:1 to make say CO or 1:2 to make CO2, whereas superstoichiometric conditions would be where you provide a large excess of one reagent

Yes, I'm happy with that. Certainly when you google for superstoichiometric or superstoichiometry with its opposite number substoichiometric/ substoichiometry, this combination comes up more often than over(-)stoichiometric)stoichiometry. Thanks.

Explanation:
"over-stoichiometry" and its opposite seem to be used, though the ref given below is one of few 'good' googles.

Explanation:
More than 80 hits with "greater than stoichiometry"

Quotations from "Concise encyclopedia of chemistry" McGraw-Hill ed, 2004

"In a general usage, the term stoichiometry refers to the relationship between the measured quantities of substances or of energy involved in a chemical reaction; the calculations of these quantities include the assumption of the validity of the laws of definite proportions and of conservation of matter and energy.
A typicial stoichiometric problem involves predicting the weight of reactant needed to produce a desired amount of a product in a chemical reaction.
.../...

Nonstoichiometric compounds are chemical compounds in which the relative number of atoms is not expressible as the ratio of small whole numbers, hence compouds for which the subscripts in the chemical formula are not rational (for example Cu1.987 S)"
.../...
ex of binary compouds:
1. Metal nonmetal ratio greater than sthoichiometric
...
2. ... ratio less than stoichiomeric

Hope this helps!
