French term

French to English Tech/Engineering Transport / Transportation / Shipping
A shipping expert has submitted the following to a loss adjustment procedure concerning the cylinder heads of engines fitted on board vessels that have cracked: "un tableau recapitulatif de la configuration des culasses par moteurs et par "ve" avec leurs numeros d'identification ....." Apologies for the lack of accents ('numeros' and my search term should both contain the same accent) but a problem with viewing my question seems to occur when I preview it.

V or vee

Well, you might be able to glean more clues from the wider context, but I wonder if these aren't just V-format engines? You know, like a V8 or V6, etc. (in which case each engine will of course have 2 cylinder heads).

Try looking at the data in this table, to see if it seems to confirm this...?
