a locution venir aux droits de quelqu’un s’emploie également dans le discours judiciaire. « Attendu que la société A peut prétendre venir aux droits de la société B puisque cette dernière a cessé son activité du fait de sa liquidation et qu’elle lui cède ses droits d’exploitation; » Elle s’emploie au sens d’acquérir les droits d’autrui. Le nouveau titulaire de ces droits est dit alors tenir ses droits du titulaire précédent, nommé auteur par rapport à l’acquéreur. Les droits sont ainsi passés d’une main à l’autre.
