Hi Friends,

I'm in a pickle [pun only slightly intended] because I can't figure out if in FR escabèche is masculine or feminine. I've seen both ... none of my dictionaries has it; one goes as far as having the verb escabecher [with an acute accent, they crash my interface] but no more, and none of my "in French" cookery books has a recipe [only the "in Spanish" ones].

So, please share your wisdom and any references you may be able to unearth!

Dee, je ne connais pas le GDEL ni votre amie, mais je peux vous certifier que escabèche est féminin. J\'ai grandi dans le Languedoc où l\'escabèche fait partie du \"patrimoine\", et le dicitonnaire l\'atteste comme étant féminin.
