La simplicité de la compréhension du salut, se complique un peu ici, par le fait que certains ont ajouté à la doctrine: "une fois sauvé, toujours sauvé", ce qui laisserait sous-entendre, que quelle que soit la condition, (***rétrograde***, péché, ou autre) le salut s'applique à celui ou celle qui avait fait une démarche avec le Seigneur. Les défenseurs de cette doctrine, avancent la Parole comme un bouclier: Dieu ne se repent ni de son appel ni de ses dons (Romains 11:29).
