Explanation:
In België noemen wij dat inderdaad een rioolrat, maar ik vraag me af of het in Nederland ook een gangbare term is. De meeste hits op Google zijn toch uit België...
Als men in Nederland bij een rioolrat automatisch aan het beestje denkt, kun je misschien ook "spiraalveer" gebruiken? Zo wordt dat ding ook wel genoemd, en het is misschien iets neutraler...

Is blijkbaar de term die in Nederland gebruikt wordt (1150 van de 1250 hits komen van Nederlandse sites).
Zover ik weet, kan je op het eind van zo'n ontstoppingsveer wel een spiraalveertje (een puntig veertje dat konisch uitloopt)monteren dat zich dan in de smurrie boort om die zo los te maken.
