A Sanxay, il y a un *théâtre rural*.
Ses fonctions étaient mixtes, il servait pour les représentations théâtrales (surtout des mimes et de l’acrobatie) et pour les combats de gladiateurs et d’animaux.
Son architecture antique en témoigne : ici des gradins en demi-cercle qui “ touchent” l’orchestra mais pas le grand mur de scène. En revanche, nous apercevons un rectangle en dehors de l’arène, qui peut-être aurait servi de scène, quoique petite (S sur le plan)
