Heat sink, hot water tank and low-temperature-boiler all in one single unit – the ATBR of KÜNZEL.
The advantages of a heat sink facility
Any wood-burning system will not reach an optimum burn unless the boiler is working with maximum output. This maximum heat output obviously has to be released to the consumer units (radiators etc). As a result, the house will either become too hot, or, if the consumption is too low, the boiler will over-heat and waste the surplus heat through its safety valve. In order to avoid such a waste of precious energy, it is stipulated by law that all boiler systems with an output over 15W must include a heat sink facility.
The advantages of a hot water tank
An integrated hot water tank (capacity 120 or 200 litres) provides sufficient water for domestic use. The temperature fluctuations inside the boiler unit will help to destroy bacteria and prevent the possible existence of legionellae (cause of legionnaires’ disease).
The advantages of an integrated low-temperature-boiler The integrated low-temperature-boiler works according to the same principles as the low-temperature-boiler within the HV-R system. It starts up when there is no output from the wood burner or if the heat buffer temperature has sunk below a prescribed limit. The result is more comfort for the user, he does not constantly have to worry about reloading the fire box with firewood. Due to the large heat sink capacity and the larger volume of water to be heated, the burner stays in continuous operation for longer periods.

Electronic Control E 23 B and oilburner
Therefore, the burner switches on/off less often than with conventional oil or gas systems. This helps to make the system more economical and reduces pollutant emission. The ATBR is a low-priced and represents a space-saving complement to the wood fire box.
Like all KÜNZEL units, the ATBR has ozone-friendly insulation and sheet metal cladding. Both insulation and cladding of all 750-litre buffer units are delivered separately for fitting in situ, thus ensuring trouble-free installation.
In Switzerland, the combined buffer-boiler is registered as Low-NOx-Boiler within BUWAL No. 294007. In Austria it is registered by the Stmk. Landesregierung under ref. No. 03-12 L 13 - 1995/16.
