French term or phrase: tir de disque
Aircraft engine patent. Any specialists recognise the term for this failure? Rotor disintegration?

English translation:disc rupture
Explanation:
Although the text usefully explains what a "tir de disque" is, I have only ever come across "disc failure/rupture" in EN. They are often spectacular, always terminal and very expensive. Note that the "rotor" is the whole rotating ensemble, comprising the disc(s) on the which the turbine or compressor blades are mounted, and the rotor shaft to which the disc (US disk) is attached. Disc failures are more common in the turbine stages since they are a great deal hotter, and radial disc creep is sometimes a problem.
