French term or phrase: … moments qui représentent un retour permanent à…
In the context of visiting the author's ancestral city: "C'est vivre quelque moments qui représentent un retour permanent à l'espieglerie de l'enfance et à la sensibilité de l'adolescence." What I have so far seems awkward: . It is to live certain moments in which one returns to the mischievousness of childhood, and the sensitivity of adolescence. Thank you for your help!

English translation:an instant spent reliving one's mischievous childhood and sensitive (touchy) teens
Explanation:
This phenomenon, of course, is referred to as "deja vu" (no accents) in English.

Note the way I have structured my sentence: one relives for an instant what was experienced *throughout* the childhood and teenage years.

Note, also, that "instant" is usually the best way to handle the French "moment" when no time frame is indicated (otherwise, it would be "minutes" in the plural)

I would like to have awarded points to both ybroad and golub; very helpful answers from both. Ybroad's translation is much closer to what I had originally come up with: "It is to relive fleeting moments of childhood mischievousness and adolescent sensitivity." I then thought that there might be a more literal translation which would be truer to the author's intent, but that seemed awkward, hence the question. Golub gave some great suggestions on improving the more literal translation, but I will go back to my first intent thanks to ybroad's excellent explanation.

Je vous remercie tous.
