French to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Automotive / Cars & Trucks / chrome plating
French term or phrase:chromage sur balancelle
This is in relation to a dipsute involving the extra costs of finding another company to chrome plate parts for cars.
"En effet, et tel qu'il en ressort des pièces versées aux débâts, la recherche d'un nouveau fournisseur pour réaliser le chromage sur balancelle a engendré un surcoût pour XX ....."
In an electrolytic plating process, the soluble chrome anode will decompose in an acid bath. So yes "dip" is the word. For balancelle, I'd picture a "swing tray conveyor" but this is pure guess. I am expecting more (from Renault cars) info in the day.
Hi Pamela. I don't believe a balancelle is being chromed here. Could be a chrome plating platformto apply the chrome plating process from. This needs be checked If not, it will take you to find out where the heck such balancelle is located (if it exists)
