Bus/Financial
French term or phrase: equilibre / visa
This refers to a company that went public last spring, and whose share price has fallen. Does "equilibre" refer to share price or profits?

"Notre objectif est de continuer notre développement afin d’assurer une création de valeur durable pour nos actionnaires et d'arriver à l'équilibre en 2003."

Also, is "approval" okay for "visa du COB" or is there a more formal term like "certification.": "Cet avertissement a ete rendu public en meme temps que l'octroi du visa".

Thanks! Karen

English translation:"balance". "approval" is OK.
Explanation:
They are trying to reach a point of equilibrium of the share price versus the company's earnings potential.
As long as the revenues do not fall within expectations the share price will continue to drop for any company trading publicly.

Regards.

Explanation:
You don't have enough context to decide with it's profits or shares, so I'd suggest hedging by using similar phrasing in English. Here's a possibility:

Our purpose is to continue our development, so as to create and maintain a balanced, long-lasting value for our shareholders by the year 2003.

From Eurodicautom: COB = Stock Exchange Commission [COB stands for: Commission des opérations de bourse]

From LGDT and Termium: visa = receipt, in the context of a stock exchange. Here is what LGDT says:

Domaine(s)
finance
bourse

receipt (a)

visa n m (ab)
