Bus/Financial
French term or phrase: l'intérêt sur escompte
We are talking about how a service is paid, in the context of an invoice discounting system:

"rémunération est assurée par l'intérêt sur escompte au taux de PIBOR 3 mois + 0,5%"

Is this interest on the discount? ie from the discount on the invoice?

Explanation:
Unless the answer to the question appears elsewhere in the document, you're probably wisest to stick closely to the French: "Compensation is ensured through interest on the discount, at the 3-month PIBOR [Paris Interbank Offered Rate] plus 0.5%."

Alternative phrasing: "...ensured by the interest charged on the discount, at the 90-day PIBOR..."

Or, if you want to cover both possibilities: "interest on the discounted amount..."

In cases like these, the intended reader of the translation often has a better sense of the situation than we poor translators do, seeing only a tiny slice of the story!
