AND

When I shop at the local LECLERC hypermarket, there are different "rayons" departments, counters (department store), eg "perfume counter" = rayon parfumerie
eg "rayon alimentation" = food department

So, your "articles de bazar" are to be found in the "rayon bazar", general/miscellaneous department. There you will find odds and ends that they can't display elsewhere, or which are seasonal, recently beach articles for example. Soon it'll be the Christmas stuff!

General merchandise

Explanation:
Essentially, 'general merchandise'. Literally, 'articles of bazaar' or 'bazaar articles'. Possibly, refers to items for sale or items to be traded at any shop.

In a way, it could also refer to goods up for sale at any shop.

You have given the additional word 'hypermarkets'. That really sets me thinking on this subject further. If you are referring to 'hyperreality', that is postmodern reality or reality on Internet, then, in that context, the term should acquire very different connotations.

In the wider sense, even if you refer to a supermarket, then everything is a good/item waiting to be sold.

The various connotations of language here are quite fascinating.
