"additional clause", "rider", "endorsement"

Explanation:
From different glossaries on the internet:

"Avenant = additional clause/rider"
http://www.outreach.uiuc.edu/french/386/chapter/f3_p2_ch6d.h...

(the following from an insurance glossary)

"Rider: (Annexe, Avenant or Intercalaire)
A rider is a separate document attached to and extending another policy. Extensions of a policy are normally made by endorsements. Where, however, this extends to an additional form of coverage, it is performed by the addition of a "Rider" to the policy."
http://www.aon.ca/english/ars/insterms/glossaryrs.htm

"Endorsement: (avenant)
Endorsements appear as additional pieces of paper attached to a policy indicating that the written consent of the parties has been given to a change in the terms of the original contract and that such change will not affect the insurance. Note the distinction from a "rider" which is the addition of a new peril to a policy and in effect, therefore, an additional insurance policy combined with the original."
http://www.aon.ca/english/ars/insterms/glossarye.htm

"Avenant: (endorsement)

I think "rider" is probably the best term to use, but depending on the rest of your text, you may wish to choose one of the other terms.

Best wishes.

addenda

Explanation:
"The addenda will serve as the basis for determining damages."

Addenda is the plural of addendum. Only use "rider" if this is an addendum to an insurance policy. If it is any thing else (contract, legal), use addenda.

endoresement, rider

Explanation:
Depending on what the "avenants" do to your contract, it would appear that you have a choice.

According to the Internat. Dic. of Insurance & Finance, (Chartered Institute of Bankers),

ENDORSEMENT has three meanings :
- signature or explanatory statement on a document
- confirmatory statement
- a note attached to an insurance policy detailing an alteration in the original terms

RIDER has two meanings :
- an addition to a document that follows logically from waht has gone before
- an additional benefit added to a policy (eg. for life insurance, this might be a disability rider)

Thus depending on which source you prefer to rely upon you would appear to have a choice, and in particular, with knowledge of whether this is in fact referring to an alteration the general terms of the contract or if is just additional cover.

A vous de jouer.

Nikki
