English translation:measures of age ; ways of measuring age ; methods of age assessment
Explanation:
I found this in context from your question on "plan social". Assuming therefore that in context it reads :

"il est indispensable de bénéficier de ces mesures d'age au-delà de celles dont la société bénéficie dans les projets de plans sociaux annuels".

I understand this as you do, viz., a way in which age is assessed in the given context : a means of determining a cut-off point, a basis of working out who is to stay and who is to go.

Perhaps you could use something like

measure of age, assessment of age, way of assessing age, age scale (if a specific one does exist), scale of ages

In fact, the French word "barème" keeps coming to mind. Measures, sliding scales, assessment grids whatever...

All the best

Nikki

Thanks Nikki. I agree with your assessment and I think I'm going to use "age policy" since it is about equivalent and has similar connotations.

Age Clause.

Explanation:
This may not always mean/refer to mandatory retirement. It could be some profession where young people are preferred over older people. For example, in Hollywood the old play writers are suing for descrimination because nobody will hire them to write or edit any work for television.
Years ago all the hostesses in airplanes had to be young.

Regards.
