Explanation: As "pincer" is "pinch", I immediately think of the GB expressions such as "feeling the pinch" "put the squeeze on sthg". Looks like the voluntary pension scheme fund is tightening up on its payments. Does this amount to "shrinkage"? That would imply a reduction, whereas the term "pincer" as I understand it does not go this far. How about : "squeeze" mechanism, tightening up on, are putting the tighteners on |
