Constituant du gage
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

... here's what I found.

Constituant sur gage :

http://www.ccra-adrc.gc.ca/F/pub/gl/p-129fm/p-129-f.htm

A non-registrant individual ("pledgor") pawns a ring to a pawnbroker. The pawnbroker gives the individual $400 and they both sign an agreement which entitles the pledgor to redeem the ring for $500 if redeemed within the specified number of days under the applicable provincial pawnbrokers legislation. If the property is not claimed within the redemption period, the pledgor loses all claim to the property. The pledgor returns to claim the property within the applicable redemption period.

(and the same thing in FR)

If you are willing to consider that a "constituant de gage" is the same as a "gageur" then you may be happy with "pledger" (the spelling I am familiar with is with the "-or" ending)or "lienee", both of which are suggested by the GDT.

A pledge is a transfer of property from a debtor to a creditor as security for a debt. Legal ownership remains with the pledgor.

A lien describes the right to possession of property until oustanding liability has been paid. Where there is a "lien", there is a right to retian or dispose of the property if liabilty not settled.

Explanation:
"constituant de gage" or "gageur" can also be translated as "wagerer" but I get the feeling that this may be an americanism.
