French term or phrase: méthodes de management plus offensives
Hello,
what I'm specifically looking for is the current "jargon" for "offensive" (as opposed to "défensive") in the context of management methods.
I have a niggling feeling that I should avoid "offensive" in English (there is nothing offensive (insulting) about the methods they want to implement) but hesitate as to what else could be used. Pro-active? Aggressive?

In this case, the text deals with microfinance institutions in Africa. The specific passage is:
"Des progrès restent à accomplir: le rajeunissement de certains cadres (here: executives), ..., l'adoption de méthodes de management plus offensives, l'innovation dans les services financiers offerts. C'est le chantier de ce projet. Il est réalisable."

Thank you!

more dynamic/forceful management methods or approaches
Explanation:
I thoroughly agree that "offensive" carries a pejoratife connotation in English. And I don't think that "aggressive" would be much less "offensive" to the reader!

I like "proactive" (note spelling) the best, but if you are uncomfortable with that one, how about "more dynamic/forceful" management methods or approaches?

proactive

Explanation:
what about "proactive"? I don't translate from French into English, but from English and French into Italian. And I am trying to find equivalents for the word proactive. It is a way to indicate a higher level of engagement and a positive overtone.

I am having trouble opening my Termium CD Rom... i was going to check there.

Cheers,

more offensive/brisker management methods

Explanation:
le robert and collins management dictionary donne "offensive" dans le contexte d'une stratégie
il ne semble pas avoir peur du quiproquo!!!
peut etre ce terme date-il de l'époque ou les commerciaux n'étaient pas des "killers" agressifs
business, trading is brisk evite peut-etre l'agessivité ou l'insulte!!!!!
