Bus/Financial
French term or phrase: location financière
Line item in financial statements.
I know it refers to "leasing" or "leases", but I was just wondering whether any adjective is used with it when referring to equipment.
One of the line items reads "capitalisation locations financières".

What is Leasing?

* Leasing is a transaction where a Lessor purchases an asset identified by the lessee and transfers the right of its usage for a specified period of time termed as the lease period.
* The lessee makes rental payments to the Lessor in periodic intervals during the tenor of the lease period.

What are the various types of lease?
Financial Lease:

* The present value of the minimum lease payments at the inception of the lease exceeds the value of the leased asset.
* It secures for the Lessor the recovery of his capital plus return on the funds invested during the lease term.
* Operations and maintenance done by the Lessee
* E.g.: vehicles, plant and machinery, ATM

While bank lines of credit are certainly important to a business' success, they are not always the best choice for capital equipment. Here's why:

* Banks will not typically finance soft costs such as shipping, installation, training, software, etc. Hence, customers still have to pay a substantial amount out of their pocket.

* Banks often require a substantial down payment; Beacon Financial Services LLC usually requires a maximum of two advance payments.

* Typical bank financing requires the capitalization of equipment, unlike many lease programs that allow the lease payments to be expensed. Because of this, lease payments can often be approved departmentally.

Thanks. I had a hard time choosing between your and ybroad's response. I had seen "arrendamiento financiero" in Mexican law, but could not recall having seen the adjective "financial" with the English usage.
