French term or phrase: gestion par proches
In a presentation on a capital management company:
"Presentation des centres de gestion: 1. actifs sous gestion des centres 2. effectifs 3.specialisation des centres de gestion (classes d'actifs, gestion par proches, centres de competence...) 4.liens fonctionnels
English translation:managed by peers,
Explanation:
More detail required. I want to make sure that you are not using the term "capital management company" for "centre de gestion". They do not handle their members capital, they are not fund managers but bodies authorised by the tax departments of the state to oversee, approve and advise members of their centre (or association) in their bookeeping practices and the presentation of their accounts for the drawing up of the annual tax return.....

Putting that to one side, "gestion par proches" could have two possible meanings in that context :

1 - management by peers
2 - management by people (professionals) who are close

As to 1, management by peers, although each centre/association takes care of a specific profession, liberal professions, hoteliers, doctors, insurance brokers, lawyers etc..., in my own experience, the people who take care of my file are employees of teh centre/association and have trained in accountancy.

As to 2, mangement by people who are close, then the matter of geographical proximity is mentionned in more than one document about chosing ones centre/assoc.

The way your text is phrased, it is probably closer to the first meaning.

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately, that's as much detail that was given. The whole document was almost a list which made it difficult to deduct the meaning from the context. thanks again/
