French term or phrase: a proximite
I'm not sure if "a proximite" refers here to neighborhood stores or product families that are related to each other. "Famille" here means "product family."

English translation:related products
Explanation:
Karen, I see no way to be sure here (except if you can question the author), but from the scope of your project as I've glimpsed it in your other questions, I would think this refers to more than just local or regional comparisons. The competition is more with related product in the marketplace than with area stores' inventories and prices. --just my opinion.

à proximité

Explanation:
I would think that closest to would be a way to use the word, in other words to analyse other product families that are like or close to the ones being analysed

neighbouring families

Explanation:
Something which is "à proximité" is in the same neighbourhood, or close by. Sticking to a similar sort of image, even with product families, perhaps the above suggestion might work in context.

approximately

Explanation:
I thing that the word you asked for is used as an adverb to the verb "analyser". The author wants to say that you probably could not analyse the products exactly but you should try to give the nearest in meaning explanation.
It has nothing to do with the family products.
That`s just my opinion. Think about it.

Good luck
