French term or phrase: rencontre en assemblée
"Notre perception de ce cours est qu'il devrait permettre aux participants d'apprendre, d'expérimenter et rendre fonctionnelles des rencontres en petits groupes et en assemblée." [small group meetings and general meetings?]

And elsewhere there is a reference to "les principales procédures relatives au travail en assemblée". [work carried out in general meetings?]

(small and) large groups
Explanation:
I think the operative phrase is actually "en petits groupes et en assemblée". I would just say 'small and large groups'. In practice, I imagine 'small groups' refers to study groups of (eg) 3-5, and "assemblée" refers to (eg) whole classroom / sports group / drama group / whole-school assembly, etc
