French term or phrase: SIE
I know this means Areas of Ecological Interest or Importance (Surfaces d'Interet Ecologique), but does anyone know if there is an official English language term and acronym? I don't think the term is limited just to France but I can't find an exact English language equivalent (and corresponding acronym).

Thanks in advance.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks for the very helpful references. A lot of times I can get English equivalents for these acronyms even with a close translation, but this time I couldn't.
