French term or phrase: blocage de sommes à terme
this is in a list of things that co-holders of a joint bank account can do - I presume it means they can tie up funds in an investment for a fixed period. Is there a better way of saying this in English?

Fixed Term Investment
Explanation:
The source term doesn't give any clues as to whether it is an investment, or a deposit account. With a fixed term there would usually be mention of a guaranteed return on a deposit account.
