French to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Law: Contract(s) / Real-estate (procuration)
French term or phrase: semi enterré
Context: decription of a house.

sentence reads:

Une maison d'habitation elevée d'un sous-sol semi enterré comportant deux pièces, etc, etc.

The document is a "Procuration" for the sale of the house. I'm afraid ther's no real context except that the house is also composed of a groundfloor. Sounds to me as though half the basement is visible from the outside but I find it a bit weird.

The term used in contracts is usually 'a house at semi basment level having two rooms, etc, etc.

You can have a look at the reference website indicated. Alternatively, just google semi basement level and you will see many other examples of the term in context.
