En guarantie de la bonne exécution par le dépositaire de ses obligations, notamment celle concernant la restitution du matériel dans son état d'origine, qui tiendra compte de l'usage normal qui en a été fait, il est versé un dépôt de garantie d'un montant de 350 euros par scooter. La somme ainsi réglée sera remboursée à la fin du présent contrat lors de la remise desdits matériels après examen contradictoire de leur état.

La restitution de ce dépôt de garantie aura entre les parties un effet libératoire.

it releases them from the provisions of the contract..if you start talking about liability, in my view, you are overtranslating it...

it releases them from the provisions of the contract..if you start talking about liability, in my view, you are overtranslating it...

neutral  Dylan Edwards: effet libératoire as I understand it means "effect of releasing from liability" - libératoire is used in situations where full discharge from debt is meant (also "legal tender"). "entre" indicates it's the parties' liability to each other.
