French term or phrase: la Société existe entre
From a company's articles of association:

"La Société XYZ, constituée sous forme de Société à Responsabilité Limitée, a été transformée en Société Anonyme par Assemblée Générale Extraordinaire des associés le
XXXXXXXXXXX 1997."
"Elle existe entre les propriétaires des actions ci-après créées et de celles qui pourront l'être ultérieurement et est régie par les dispositions législatives et réglementaires en vigueur et à venir et par les présents statuts."

I'm having trouble wording what is meant by 'existe entre' the shareholders. Has anyone come across this before or can anyone come up with a good suggestion? Would it be too baldly literal to say 'is jointly owned by its shareholders'? Many thanks.
