In a court case, involving a juge des référés and I think it means the case being assigned to this court but not sure what exact translation is. Thanks!

Nthg to do with assigning or listing cases.

If it's the vu you're also worried about, it's 'upon reading' - note the OPENING CAPS . if uttered by an Eng. etc. judge and 'in view of' only if in the pleading itself.

Notices of motion are used to apply for e.g. restraining injunctions.
