disagree  James Langridge: A hearing is where something is heard. A meeting is where something is discussed./If I was going to a meeting I'd be quite shocked to discover it was a hearing, and unprepared. Meeting=minutes. Hearing=transcript.

agree  Conor McAuley: Minutes is right, family council is backed up by the Council of Europe Legal Dict., not sure about hearing, a council IS a meeting, so it's superfluous. Is this relevant? http://209.85.129.104/search?q=cache:K41KvYKTpGgJ:www.family... %

-> Thank you Conor, I agree that hearing or meeting is superfluous, as it is self-evident...so it should read "minutes of family council". And thanks for your supportive link.

family council report

Explanation:
Cant at the moment find any UK En refs-but I trawled through all Eurodicatom's translations of phrases which included 'conseil'. There was no mention of 'conseil de famille' but 99% of the phrases used the translation 'council' for 'conseil'.

neutral  James Langridge: Are you sure you don't mean counsel (a barrister/lawyer)? If so, it would be 'an advice' not a report. Hard to tell with no context from asker.

"If one of the heirs to the estate is a minor or an adult subject to court supervision (i.e. under guardianship or wardship), the heirs may need to convene the board of guardians, consult with the judge overseeing the guardianship or simply obtain their authorisation."

"The first Act resulting from the Children's Parliament concerned the keeping of brothers and sisters together save where undesirable: viz Act no. 96-1238 of 30 December 1996, published in the Journal Officiel of 1 January 1997. The second addressed the rights of orphan children and the board of guardians made up of family members: viz Act no. 98-381 of 14 May 1998, published in the Journal Officiel of 19 May 1998."
