Law/Patents - Law (general)
French term or phrase: chef
"Nous avons l´honneur de nous constituer parties civiles dans le cadre de l´information ouverte en vos cabinets des chefs de faux, usage de faux, et abus des biens sociaux au prejudice de la société X dont nous sommes actionnaires."

Actually, everything up to "chefs" is a bit confusing. I´m not sure how any part of "information ouverte en vos cabinets des chefs de..." would be expressed in English.

It is a letter to an Examining Magistrate (juge d´instruction) regarding fraud by the directors of company X complicitly with the statutory auditors (commissaires aux comptes).

agree  Tony M: "...in the case before you..." [need to simplify the wordy French!] In certain contexts, I find 'count(s)' also works well for 'chef(s)', though it always sounds US to me?
